The largest amusement park in the Intermountain West is what fun is! Lagoon features over 50 rides, live entertainment, a huge waterpark, and the historic Pioneer Village complete with historic buildings collected from around the state. October brings the added attraction of Frightmares.
In Lagoon-a-Beach water park you’ll find an interactive water attraction with over 150 fountain heads, synchronized to music and lights. There are also water slides, a lazy river and other attractions.
In the park itself, younger riders will enjoy the Dinosaur Drop and Ladybug Bop. These rides are two independent 40 foot vertical fall towers. They're family rides that appeal to all ages! Bombora is a family-style ride, which means that it won't be too violent a ride - and younger and shorter family members will likely be able to ride it.
There are plenty of other thrills and chills for older family members, too - like Colossus, Samurai, AirRace and the Spider. You'll also find many throw backs to another age: like the 115 year old Carousel... with it's hand carved wooden horses and animals. Or the carnival games that test your skill and prownes.
Let Pioneer Village transport you back to a time when gunslingers and outlaws roamed around local villages. Although these images exist only in our imaginations, Pioneer Village truly captures the spirit of the Wild West.
Located inside Lagoon Amusement Park, Pioneer Village allows viewers to see what a frontier town looked like in the late 1800s. Forty-two buildings and shops have been reconstructed and outfitted with implements from that time period.
You can walk down charming wooden pathways, float down a rapid river, or learn more about frontier life in this section of the park.
Where to get discounted tickets to Lagoon
Visitors: If you're from out of town and need a place to stay, you'll find hotel packages (room and tickets) at Davis Deals. Most bundle a hotel stay, and a ticket to the park at greatly reduced rates. Some will even shuttle you to the park - and pick you up when you're done!
The Coke Discount: If you already have a place to stay, grab a can of Coke, drink it, and bring the empty can with you. In years-past - that empty can has provided discounts of about $5 per person for up to four persons.
Military, and military spouses or dependents get discounts too. If you're active military, the cost to enter is only $30. Your dependents, and retired military (with ID) can get passes for up to 8 people in your party for $39. Print out this coupon!
Other rumored discounts: At the start of the 2012 season, from experience in past seasons - you might look at Costco, Deseret Book, Macey's, Weber State or your company's employee discount program.
If you see a great coupon that's available to the general public, please e-mail me at ralph @ davisareacvb.com and I'll pass it on to others!
